Conformal coating is the application of a protective, silicone, acrylic or polyurethane film that adheres perfectly to the surface profile of the assembled electronic board (SMT or SMD) as it flows around, under and over the components, without leaving any areas, such as sharp edges, exposed to the atmosphere.
This plastic coating creates an electrically insulating barrier designed to protect the PCB (printed circuit board) and its electronic components against humidity, chemical pollutants, corrosive agents, dirt, extreme temperatures, temperature ranges as well as vibration problems and mechanical shocks.
Many formulations of coating materials provide a UV indicator to facilitate a visual inspection by means of ultraviolet light (Wood lamp).
The wide range of conformal coating products offered by ISCRA dielectrics includes high-tech varnishes with various viscosities for spray, immersion, brush or robotized dispensing (spray or airless); solvent free products (VOC free) and UV Curable resins, which can be cured very quickly by UV rays.
